Some letting agencies and selected landlords are being asked to take part in a new survey investigating views and experiences in the private rental sector.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has instructed survey organisation NatCen to select agents and landlords.

Those chosen will have received an invitation from one of the three government-backed Tenancy Deposit Schemes - that’s the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, the Deposit Protection Service, or MyDeposits.

The probe is being called the English Private Landlord Survey and the MHCLG states this will be “the most authoritative evidence source on the profile and views of private landlords and their agents agents in England” with results used to inform future government policy.
